Life does not always unfold the way we expect. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety, navigating changes in your family, supporting a child or teenager, or simply finding that things have become harder to manage than they once were.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
At Inside Out Counselling & Consulting, we provide compassionate, person-centred counselling that starts with where you are now. Our approach recognises that your experiences, circumstances and goals are unique, so counselling should never feel like a one-size-fits-all process.
We offer in-person counselling in Marrickville, Inner West Sydney, as well as online counselling for people across Australia.
Maybe you’ve had experiences where you felt that professionals did not really listen, or you found it difficult to access the right support because of location, timing or other circumstances.
We believe counselling should begin with being heard.
Rather than telling you what you should do, we work collaboratively with you and recognise that you are the expert in your own life. Our role is to provide a supportive space where you can explore what is happening, develop greater understanding and work towards the changes that matter to you.
Our counselling is grounded in a person-centred, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming approach, with compassion and respect at the centre of the work.

Different people come to counselling for different reasons. You may be navigating challenges within your family, supporting a child with ADHD, experiencing anxiety, adjusting to a major life transition or looking for a space to make sense of what you are going through.
Our counselling services are designed around the individual rather than a standard formula.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
There is no single reason why someone chooses to seek counselling.
At Inside Out, we support people who may be navigating:
Our work begins by understanding your individual experience, rather than making assumptions about what you need.

We believe meaningful counselling begins with a genuine understanding of the person sitting in front of us.
You are the expert in your own life. We work collaboratively with you, taking the time to understand your experiences, perspective and goals rather than applying a predetermined solution.
A trauma-informed approach considers how past experiences can influence the way we understand ourselves, relate to others and respond to situations. We aim to create a counselling environment that feels respectful, supportive and sensitive to your individual experiences.
We recognise that neurological differences are part of human diversity. A neuro-affirming approach focuses on understanding and supporting the individual rather than treating difference itself as something that needs to be changed.
You deserve a space where you can speak openly and be treated with compassion, respect and understanding.
Access to counselling should not be unnecessarily limited by where you live or how your schedule works.

We do not believe counselling should be about fitting you into a particular framework. Instead, we draw on appropriate therapeutic approaches while keeping your experiences, needs and goals at the centre of the work.

At Inside Out, our primary focus is individual counselling. However, there are times in our work with families when it is helpful for both parents to attend sessions together.
We recognise that ‘being a good fit’ and the therapeutic relationship are the most important and powerful drivers for change in therapy.
After establishing safety, and a collaborative therapeutic relationship with clear goals, we draw on evidence-based counselling approaches including:
While these are our main approaches, we have trained in several other modalities and may integrate these where appropriate. As part of our registration with PACFA, we regularly participate in professional development to maintain best practices.
